Forty-eight feet high and with 425 windows, Thorncrown Chapel is a gorgeous church built in 1978 by well-known architect E. Fay Jones. Since that time, more than five million visitors have graced this spectacular place of worship. A popular wedding destination, Thorncrown Chapel has been the recipient of many architectural awards, including the American Institute of Architecture's Design of the Year Award (1981). Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thorncrown Chapel is three miles outside of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. There is no fee to visit the chapel, however, donations are appreciated.
